Following the 2022 governance reforms, WADA has the following five Permanent Special Committees (PSCs), which are further detailed on their respective webpages:
- Independent Ethics Board (IEB)
- Compliance Review Committee (CRC)
- Nominations Committee (NomsComm)
- Athlete Council (AC)
- Risk and Audit Committee (RAC)
Distinct rules apply to the PSCs, whose main principles (including reporting lines) are set out in WADA’s revised Governance Regulations (except for the IEB, which is regulated by the WADA Code of Ethics). They each play a unique and important role in WADA’s governance structure to ensure that the Agency operates and is managed within a strong framework of sound governance, transparency and accountability.
The PSCs distinguish themselves from Standing Committees, which support WADA’s mission by serving as forums for detailed and expert deliberation on specific matters related to anti-doping.
